Source hierarchy
Public electoral research prioritises official election authorities, government publications and other primary records where available. Secondary sources may be used for context and should be identified appropriately.
Time period matters
Every electoral figure has a reference period. Historical election results, turnout, electors and polling-station counts should be labelled by the election cycle or publication date. Older figures are not treated as automatically representative of the present.
Geographic structure
Research may be organised through State → District → Parliamentary Constituency → Assembly Constituency → Sector/Mandal → Booth where reliable mappings are available. Boundary or delimitation changes must be considered before comparing different periods.
Survey research
When Janadesh Labs publishes survey findings, the accompanying material should state relevant details such as target population, fieldwork dates, sample size, sampling approach, question wording or questionnaire context where appropriate, mode of data collection, weighting if used and material limitations.
Aggregate reporting
Public voter-mood and demographic analysis should be reported at an appropriate aggregate level. Janadesh Labs does not present inferred individual political preference based on sensitive personal characteristics as public research.
Field information
Authorised field inputs may support operational research. Such inputs should be distinguished from official statistics and reviewed for consistency, recency and source context before they are used in published analysis.
Corrections and revisions
Datasets and research notes may be updated when source agencies revise records or when material errors are identified. Where a revision materially changes a published conclusion, an update note should be considered.
Interpretation
Data describes evidence available for a stated period; it does not by itself establish motive, causation or a future election result. Analytical conclusions should identify important uncertainty and limitations.
